The plant hormone auxin is a fundamental regulator of organ patterning and development that regulates gene expression via the canonical AUXIN RESPONSE FACTOR (ARF) and AUXIN/INDOLE-3-ACETIC ACID (Aux/IAA) combinatorial system.
