Invasive crayfish are increasingly advancing in the Netherlands and have a negative impact on the Dutch water quality standards and native aquatic flora and fauna. In the context of European regulations, these exotic species must be controlled where possible. This can be done, among other things, by catching and marketing crayfish as a consumer product and a number of professional fishermen have already specialized in commercial crayfish fishing. In this scoping study, the current business model of three professional fishermen was examined and the conditions under which a sustainable, economically viable business model for professional fishermen can exist were examined. ; Amerikaanse rivierkreeften rukken steeds verder op in Nederland en hebben een negatief effect op de Nederlandse inheemse aquatische flora en fauna. In het kader van Europese regelgeving dienen deze exoten waar mogelijk te worden bestreden. Dit kan onder andere door kreeft als consumptiegoed op de markt te zetten. Een aantal beroepsvissers heeft zich reeds gespecialiseerd in de commerciële vangst van rivierkreeft. In deze verkennende studie is het huidige verdienmodel van een drietal beroepsvissers onder de loep genomen en is gekeken naar wat de voorwaarden zijn waaronder een duurzaam economisch rendabel verdienmodel voor beroepsvissers kan bestaan.
