The greenhouse horticulture sector and the Dutch government have agreed on a target of 4.6 Mtonnes of total CO2 emissions in 2020. In 2018, CO2 emissions from the sector remained at the same level as the previous year (5.7 Mtonnes), which exceeded the target level. CO2 emissions were also stable over the entire 2014-2018 period.
