This study investigates to what extent the initial track recommendation, in comparison to the final track recommendation and the track recommendation based on the standardized test, predicts educational attainment after three years of secondary education, for three recent cohorts with population data. For all educational levels and cohorts, it holds that the initial and final track recommendations are better predictors of the educational attainment after three years of secondary education than the standardized test.
