This bachelor thesis focuses on the personage of Sigismund of Luxembourg, the Holy Roman Emperor, during the period before his reign in the Kingdom of Hungary and in his beginnings as the Hungarian ruler, with regards to his portrayals in the chosen Hungarian chronicles of the 14th and 15th century. The thesis tries to compare facts about Sigismund's live and personality as presented in the Chronica Hungarorum by Johannes de Thurocz, in the Chronicle by Master Jan of Šarišské Sokolovce and in the Chronicle of Spišská Sobota.
