This article studies the secular practice of dressing worship statues, particularly the Marian ones. It envisages specifically the Luxembourg space investigating the collections of the Musée en Piconrue, the statues still in place and parish inventories of the “wardrobes” of the Madonna. It shows how appear some statues-mannequins designed to be dressed and examines the making of their trousseau.
