DIAGNOSIS. — The central structure is very small: a simple frame made of short bars with several sharp corners. The external skeleton is outside the central structure. It is spherical, made of a normal latticed shell, a spongy layered shell, and is full of coarse polygonal meshes. REMARKS The Centrocuboidea consist of the Centrocubidae (Clade H), Excentroconchidae (Clade I), Quinquecapsulariidae and Spongodrymidae (Clade I) in the Cenozoic.
