De LEO-munten van graaf Floris III van Holland (1157-1190), Inventarisatie en hypothese
Summary – An analysis of 50 specimens (23 pennies and 27 oboles) of the so-called 'leo-type' allows to distinguish two main types, which are both divided into sub-types. Data from a coin hoard and single finds point to count Floris III (1157-1190) as mint authority. A hypothesis about the origin of the lion as heraldic symbol is subsequently discussed.
