Lady Holland's diaries were published by the Earl of Ilcester in the first decade of 20th century. He valued her testimony as a witness of the exceptional period between the French Revolution and the end of the Georgian Era. However, editor’s intervention substantially modified the original purpose of the work which acquires a different meaning in the new historical fields like gender history. This can be verified with the analysis of The Spanish Journal (1910) based on the annotations made by the diarist during her trips to Spain in the first years of the 19th century. ; A principios del sigl...
