Beginning the second century

The year 1966 found Western Theological Seminary (WTS) entering its second century with Herman J. Ridder as its president. Appointed in 1963 after having served successfully as director of the Reformed Church in America's (RCA) office of evangelism, Ridder was perceived as pastor, preacher, evangelist, and creative administrator. Eugene Osterhaven (1952), Elton M. Eenigenberg (1952), John H. Piet (1960), Donald J. Bruggink (1962), James I. Cook (1963), William C. Brownson (1964), Robert A Nykamp (1965), and Hugh Koops (1966). Two other major figures were Mildred Schuppert (1950), librarian, and Henry Kleinheksel (1963), business manager. Henry TenClay (1961), dean of students, ieft to serve the First Reformed Church of Milwaukee in 1967.
