There exists a relation, so far unexplored, between the spherical images of Jerónimo Nadal (1507-1580) [Jerome Nadal] and Francisco de Holanda (1517-1584) [Francis of Holland], particularly with regard to their works Evangelicæ Historiæ Imagines and De Ætatibus Mundi Imagines. The courts of John III of Portugal (1502-1557) and that of Philip II of Spain (1527-1598) served as the meeting point for these two figures. Rome and the status of the religious images adopted by the Council of Trent provide yet another key to understand these works. We will focus on the Descend of Christ into Hell (Nadal) and the Fiat Lux (Holanda), to discover the spherical dimension of images as the divine symbol and of the glory of God. ; Existe una relación aún inexplorada entre las imágenes esféricas de Jerónimo Nadal (1507-1580) y Francisco de Holanda (1517-1584), especialmente en lo que concierne a dos de sus obras: Evangelicæ Historiæ Imagines y De Ætatibus Mundi Imagines. Las cortes de Juan III (1502-1557) de Portugal y de Felipe II (1527-1598) de España serán dos de los focos que les unen. Roma y el estatus de las imágenes religiosas declarado por el Concilio de Trento será otro de los marcos clave al igual que la teología icónica que se desprende de estos dos capolavori.
