Los retratos de Van Dyck en el Prado: las connexiones españoles y flamencas

Van Dyck was one of the great portrait painters. His works are not as powerful as those of Velzaquez and Rembrandt, nor was his ability to penetrate the human character as deep as theirs. We will not go into their numerous differences here, but it can be argued that his prosopographic radius was greater. He painted in the Netherlands, Italy and England. The multiplicity of political figures he portrayed was more extensive than that of any of his colleagues.
