Obverse ; This small triptych is in its original frame. The Virgin and Child are enthroned in the central panel. On the left-hand shutter is an unidentified bishop saint, and on the right-hand shutter Saint Louis. On the reverses, shown when the shutters were closed are, on the left, Saint James the Greater, and on the right Saint Anthony of Padua. On the back of the center panel there is an inscription: respice finem et non / peccabis in eternvm, 'Remember the end and thou shalt not do amiss' (Ecclesiasticus 7: 40).
