This photograph shows Sean Flanders (class of 1986) receiving the GTE Academic All American award from Academic Dean, Paul U. Congdon, during his senior year in Springfield College's Blake Arena. ; Flanders played defensive end for the football team throughout his four years at Springfield, and majored in biology/pre-med. He was named one of 1985's 11 National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar-Athletes.
