Weight Status, Psychological Health, Suicidal Thoughts, and Suicide Attempts in Dutch Adolescents: Results From the 2003 E‐MOVO Project

This study describes the association between weight status and psychological health, suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts in adolescents from a population‐based study of 21,730 adolescents who responded to a classroom‐based internet questionnaire. It demonstrated clear associations between weight status in adolescents and poor psychological health, suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts, especially in obese individuals.
