Characterization of Genetic Diversity Conserved in the Gene Bank for Dutch Cattle Breeds
A paper produced in the frame of the H2020 project 677353 'Innovative Management of Animal GEnetic resources' The genetic diversity of native cattle breeds in the Dutch gene bank has been mapped by genotyping. This showed a clear differentiation between most breeds. Optimal Contribution Selection was used to construct a core set of bulls maximizing diversity. The conclusions helpt to prioritize material in gene banking. ; The study was co-funded by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (KB-34-013-002).
