Gambrel-Dutch style barn, No. 6 and Badger Pocket roads, weeds along the barn wall, Kittitas County, Washington, 2007
Located near the intersection of No. 6 and Badger Pocket roads southeast of Ellensburg, Washington, this compact Gambrel-Dutch style red barn has an attached side shed. The top portion of the barn was used for hay storage and livestock were housed on the ground floor. The large sliding doors at ground level provided easy access into the barn. This barn, similar to many in the valley, was constructed during the 1920s.
