This building is the second headquarters (now known as HGB II), built by Jacob F. Klinkhamer (later professor at the Delft Polytechnic), a student of Gugel, working in his international Renaissance Revival style. There are now 4 HGB buildings, the most recent is a skyscraper (1990, HGB IV), all clustered together. HGB III is the well known 'De Inktpot', (1918-1921), the largest brick building in the Netherlands. They all still function as office buildings for railway-related companies.
