ABSTRACT Racism is the social phenomenon that might happen in a certain society and a certain era. It might happen to such races as Afro-American, Chinese, Jews, and et cetera. Racism brings harm in a society. Its existence always gives a benefit to the majority, but not to the minority. The minority always gets bad treatments and always become the main victims of racism. Racism in America; every person in this world has the same rights; do not care about religion, race, color, nation, and ethnicity. Racism means a system of belief or doctrine that inherent biological differences in human races determine cultural or individual achievement, that a particular race is superior and has the right to regulate the others. Racism in America is closely related to white supremacy. White Supremacy is an ideology that assumes that the white race is superior to other races. Amiri Baraka's Dutchman is a one of the drama tells about the story of racism. The research is a sociological, literary criticism which sees the literary work as the reflection of a sociological condition of society in real life. The researcher tries to see the relation between the content of literary work with the social aspects of the society. Afterwards, the researcher also sees the literary work as the social document which reflects the situation when the literary work was produced. Related to those phenomena, the research problem was consisted of two questions, “What kinds of racism, which are faced by Clay in Amiri Baraka’s drama Dutchman?” and “How does Lula practice racism to Clay on Amiri Baraka’s Drama Dutchman?”. After doing the analysis data, researcher finally found some form of racism toward Clay and the impact happened to both races in the drama. The kinds of racism happened to Clay were prejudice, segregation, discrimination, expulsion, and extermination. The strategy happened white girl were making a closer relation to a black man.
