This research investigated the motivations of the private sector for the construction of Jardim Dona Rosa at Alto de Santana in the 1950s , one of the periods of greatest incentive to the occupation of distant neighborhoods of the central city , including the Santana district. Through textual , iconographic and oral sources , analyze the path of Dirk Berkhout and Selma Vita , Dutch immigrants and village owners, their social relationships and interventions in the city of São Paulo, as well as aspects of the spatial and social formation process neighborhood in question to think the inclusion of the building in this space. Through this research on the construction of the village, we intended to contribute to the studies on the process of formation of the Santana neighborhood and studies on the villages of São Paulo. ; Esta pesquisa investigou as motivações do setor privado para a construção do Jardim Dona Rosa no Alto de Santana na década de 1950, um dos períodos de maior incentivo à ocupação de bairros afastados da região central da cidade, entre eles o bairro de Santana. Por meio de fontes textuais, iconográficas e orais, analisamos a trajetória de Dirk Berkhout e Selma de Vita, imigrantes holandeses e proprietários da vila, suas relações sociais e intervenções na cidade de São Paulo, bem como aspectos do processo de formação espacial e social do bairro em questão para pensarmos a inserção da edificação neste espaço. Por meio da pesquisa sobre a construção da vila intentou-se contribuir para os estudos sobre o processo de formação do bairro de Santana e para os estudos sobre as vilas da cidade de São Paulo.
