Flexicurity in the Dutch temporary work sector: a positive sum game?

This paper describes and analyses in depth the Dutch example of simultaneous deregulation and re-regulation of the temporary agency market. It is argued that this 'flexicurity deal' represents a trade-off between enhanced external-numerical flexibility on the one hand, notably flexibility in hiring and firing, and enhanced employment and income security for temporary agency workers on the other.
