Deed to small lot in Jersey City, 1832

Deed for a small parcel of land, sold by Altje Parks, nee Merselis, to Jacob Vreeland. Her name spelled Altia Park in the text. This lot adds an additional five feet to a lot previously obtained by Vreeland. It is in the vicinity of Five Corners, a name still in use in Jersey City. Merselis and Vreeland were both prominent Dutch colonial families, who saw their land holdings grow in value in the mid 19th century as the Village and Township of Bergen began to transform into Jersey City.
