Armchair
Chairs like this, with lions on a straight back and an upholstered seat, were known in the seventeenth century as 'Spanish chairs'. The model is derived from 16th-century Spanish predecessors. In fact it was so well-known that the craftsmen who made them were known as 'Spanish chair-makers'. Made of tropical rosewood, this dignified seat would have been an expensive item in its day. The green velvet upholstery may be original. It is fixed with large, decorative copper nails. (http://www.rijksmuseum.nl)
