Old cemetery in Upper Nyack, NY

Two headstones are pictured here, one from 1731 and one from 1735. They are located in the Old Palmer Burying Ground on Old Mountain Road, Upper Nyack. The 1731 stone is marked CKD and is the grave of Cornelius Kuyper, son of Claus Jensen Purmurent, the first owner of land in Rockland County. The 1735 stone marks the resting place of Cornelius' wife, Aeltje.
