Stucco-ceilings with moulded ornaments in the Netherlands. The development of and influences from abroad on the 19th Dutch practise

This article focuses on the production of plaster ornaments in the 19th century. The article concludes with a special example in the Netherlands. From the Renaissance stucco ornaments on walls and ceilings were partly cast. In the course of the 19th century, ornaments for stucco ceilings and walls are manufactured on an industrial scale. Unique in the Netherlands in a country house in Wassenaar is the figurative frieze by the sculptor-stuccoist Wilhelm Dankberg from Berlin.
