This study entitled “The Kerkhof Cemetery in Banda Aceh, the Reflection of the Awesomeness of Aceh War: A Historical Perspectives” explains about the Dutch war in Aceh through the evidence of tomb, history, and classification of the tomb in the Kerkhof. Data collection was gained by using historical method. Deeper research on historical method was used to obtain accurate and comprehensive understanding about the Dutch war in Aceh and the Kerkhof itself. Technique of collecting data was through literature study. Literature study was done by noting important parts from various relevant resources on the object of the research. The result showed that the fierce battle between Acehnese society with the Dutch took place in the unique ways. Holy war concept is used by Aceh leader as a basic ideology against colonial imperialism. Kerkhof is the evidence of Aceh resistance against colonial. The tombs in Kerkhof Cemetery have several categories of origin, military rank, place and time of death. The research concludes that Acehnese resistance toward colonial imperialism was due to defend their religion and nation honour. Kerkhof was made in the rememberance of Dutch army who died during the war, thus the existence of Kerkhof was closely related to Dutch war in Aceh.
