The first American folk dance team to represent the United States in Europe, the BYU dancers have earned a reputation of excellence both on and off the stage in almost every country of Europe. They have appeared in folk festivals in many countries; on German, Spanish, French, Norwegian, and Belgian national television before millions of viewers; before Princess Grace in Monaco alongside dancers from all over Europe; in famous entertainment centers, such as Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen; and in famous theaters, such as Salle Playel in Paris and Turku Konserttisalli, Finland. On one of their tours of the United States they also appeared at the Lincoln Center in New York City, where they received a standing ovation. In this photograph, the 1968 touring group kicks up its heels in an American hoedown in front of Schoten Castle, Belgium.
