Does the local embeddedness of energy production contribute to sustainable rural development? Some evidence and propositions concerning the spreading of wind energy parks in Belgium

Although the global impact of wind energy is mainly perceived as positive, local concerns have to be coped with. Based on a review of the international literature and on a study of five Belgian cases, the paper underlines the spatial transition of energy production relating to the spreading of wind turbines.
