The Mont d'Haurs Formation, which belongs to the Lower Polygnathus varcus Zone, reaches a thickness of about 180 metres between Beauraing and Han-sur-Lesse, on the south side of the Dinant Synclinorium. Argutastrea tenuiseptata COEN-AUBERT & LÜTTE, 1990, Sociophyllum isactis (FRECH, 1886) and S. wedekindi n. sp. are characteristic of its lower part whereas Sunophyllum beichuanense HE, 1978, Argutastrea wangi (TSIEN, 1978) and Wapitiphyllum laxum (GÜRICH, 1896) occur in its upper part.
