peer reviewed ; This article tends to compare several sectors for pedestrians in the cities of Belgium as well as France. In general, their businesses structures differ in function of the neighborhoods or sites selected for the landmark of a pedestrian. Thus, three types of sectors for pedestrians can be characterized : businessman's site, the old neighborhoord in process of destruction (historical entity) and the neighborhood with attractions and restaurants. In fact, the presence of pedestrian in a street or a neighborhood may precipitate a decline in business flourishment by a combination in a reduction of access in the premises (elimination of small businesses selling heavy materials and/or those occupy a large place and those which are involved in frequent deliveries) and an uprising in rents (minimization of businesses selling certain products which are not essential and/or at a fix price). ; L'article tente de comparer différentes structures commerciales de secteurs piétonniers en France et en Belgique. En général, ces structures diffèrent en fonction des secteurs choisis comme espaces piétonniers; trois types d'espaces peuvent ainsi être distingués : les axes régionaux, les vieux quartiers en mutation et les quartiers de loisirs et de restauration, parfois proches des précédents. In het algemeen zijn de commerciele structuren verschallend, afhankelijk van die bepaalde Straten of wijken die men heeft uitgekozen om verkeersvrij te maken. Toch kunnen drie types van verkeersvrije sectoren goed onderscheiden worden.
