Building a Belgian Identity Outside of France ; Construire une identite belge hors de l’Hexagone

This article aims to review the myths of Belgian identity based on the structure of the symbol itself. In the introduction, we present a synthesis of Belgian identity myths throughout its history, detected by Jean-Marie Klinkenberg on the basis of the sociology of literature. We then look at contemporary myths cross-checking the testimonies of writers and artists published by Jacques Sojcher and we understand the structure of the Belgian myth from a work by Jean-Marie Klinkenberg on the subject, Petites mythologies belges.
