Squamanita paradoxa, a nice addition to the Belgian mycoflora

Summary Squamanita paradoxa (A.H. Sm. & Singer) Bas has been collected for the first time in Belgium. The specimen is described and illustrated. The main characters of the species are summarized and its distribution in Western Europe revised. A phylogenetic tree is provided, which includes two sequences of the ribosomal ITS of the specimen, one obtained from the cap, one from the stipe.
