International audience ; Study of the reception, by the press and critics, of François Emmanuel's novel: Jours de tremblement (2011), whose action takes place on a river in West Africa and features hostages, especially Europeans, prisoners of a rebel movement. This study distinguishes first an "aesthete" critique and, secondly, a criticism dominated by moral and political criteria, of third-world and culturalist inspiration.
