editorial reviewed ; At first sight, Belgium and Iran have never conducted any privileged relations. Yet, when taking a closer look, one notices that rapprochements have been drawn between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, from diplomatic, commercial and social points of view. Afterwards, the 1978-1979 Iranian Revolution has become a topic of discussion in Belgium. This article looks at the coverage of these two moments in the Belgian historiography and observes that the following period has received little attention. A few lines of approach are thus suggested to provide food for thought for future researches.
