The present article is an attempt to answer the question why the theatre art of Dominique Bréda entitled "Les Dernières Volontés" causes amusement. Breda build his play on the opposition of two characters: Hélène Volontés and Ludivine Volontés. The history of their relationship is placed in a tragic event - the death of their mother - Monique Volontés. Although the history might seem to be only a traumatic event at first, it causes a lot of amusement and it can surely be called humorous.
