The case of Belgian conductor and composer Léon J. Simar (1909-1983), is one good example of musical migration, he left Belgium, due to the social upheaval of World War II, and settled in Cali (Colombia) in 1949. This article intends to describe the way in which he integrated to the Colombian musical environment. Esta investigación muestra la forma en que Simar se inscribió por el contexto musical colombiano, reconstruye su historia de vida y caracteriza sus obras y posibles aportes al entorno musical caleño en la segunda mitad del siglo XX.
