Peripheral blood derived mononuclear cells enhance osteoarthritic human chondrocyte migration

A major problem in cartilage repair is the lack of chondrogenic cells migrating from healthy tissue into defects. Cartilage is essentially avascular and therefore its healing is not considered to involve mononuclear cells.
