The Met tackles sickness absence - The Metropolitan Police force has launched a four-year campaign aimed at reducing short-term sickness absence levels through targeted health screening and lifestyle advice. All the Met's boroughs and business units were ranked according to levels of shortterm absence in preparation for the launch of the Healthy for Life project, enabling the occupational health team to target those boroughs at the top of the absence league. Employees at Bromley and Dagenham were the first to be offered screening and lifestyle advice.
