Sex at work: everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask - We lift the lid on consensual sexual and romantic relationships in the workplace: the policies used to police them, how they are managed in practice, and the effects oil the business. Based oil a survey of 94 private and public sector organisations we analyse the extent of workplace liaisons, and ask emplovers what they regard as acceptable and unacceptable in this area. Our findings suggest: very few organisations have a clear written policy on the issue, while other strategies are few and far between - with a "quiet word" or informal chat with the parties involved the most frequent approach; line managers and the HR-personnel function are usually responsible for overseeing any issues that arise; and while most employers do not regard employee relationships as a big issue, the impact on organisations is on balance negative, notably in the area of teamworking.
