Nationwide families - In July 1999, Nationwide Building Society introduced a job family pay structure across its group-wide operations, aimed at increasing organisational flexibility and facilitating employees' career progression. IRS looks at why the new reward structure was introduced, and how each position within the 11 new job families was assigned a target salary. We also examine the benefits of the scheme to date and highlight some of the key lessons learned.
