Time off for dependants - As from 15 December 1999, all employees have a new statutory right to take a reasonable amount of unpaid time off work, if necessary, to deal with specific matters affecting others who rely on them. They also have the right not to be victimised or dismissed for so doing. Our first feature in this issue examines what and who is covered by the right to time off, how much time off is allo wed, when the right does not apply and the method of enforcing it.
