Seasonal and spatial rhythm of seed production in savannas of "La Iguana" experimental station, Guárico state, Venezuela ; Ritmo estacional y espacial de producción de semillas en las sabanas de la estación experimental "La Iguana" estado Guárico, Venezuela

We determined fruiting species and seed number produced by the herbaceous vegetation in savannas, at five dates, three soil types, and two topographic levels. A total of 90 1m 2 -quadrats were randomly selected by sampling date, and all fruits were counted by plant species separately. Seeds contained in ten fruits of every fruiting species found in the quadrats were counted, and the mean seed number by fruit was used to calculate the seed number m -2 by plant species and sampling date.
