Deux types de versants periglaciaires de Haute Belgique ; Two types of periglacial slope from the Belgian highlands
peer reviewed ; All slopes in Belgium experienced important modifications during the periglacial conditions of the Pleistocene. Two such slopes are described here: 1) the very gentle slopes in the Famenne (cryopediments with a gradient below 2°). This was denuded by slopewash which removed the small fragments produced by gelifraction of the underlying Famennian shales. 2) A slope near Beauregard (Boncelles, south of Liege). This consist of a regular gentle slope (6° over a 400 m distance) which reflects the accumulation of gelifluction deposits. -English summary
