The rise and fall of credibility, a way to understand the case of the Dutch public housing sector
The Dutch public housing sector provides us a clear case of credibility. Credibility is conceptualized as a phenomenon of trust, attributed in the public opinion to housing corporations. Housing corporations are subordinated to central government by law. Upward of 1990 they were granted trust and freedom of operation by the government. Since 2005 they became subject of public criticism, indicating a first loss of credibility.
