Modelling and optimising the inland waterway network in Belgium

In this paper the main idea of my PhD research is described. We aim to analyze the operational performance of intermodal networks including inland navigation. The intermodal hinterland network of the port of Antwerp serves as the real-world application on our study. Characteristics of the inland waterway network in Belgium are discussed.
