LC-MS-MS Analysis and Occurrence of Octyl- and Nonylphenol, Their Ethoxylates and Their Carboxylates in Belgian and Italian Textile Industry, Waste Water Treatment Plant Effluents and Surface Waters

Determination of the concentration of alkylphenols (APs), alkylphenol ethoxylates(APEOs), ethoxycarboxylate metabolites (APECs) and bisphenol A in surface water is important because of the relative lack of exposure data for risk assessment of these estrogenic compounds. Alkylphenolic compounds were extracted from water by solid-phase extraction (SPE) followed by triple-quadrupole LC-MS-MS, using electrospray ionisation (ESI).
