Colins and Huet : two examples of a french-belgian tradition of « basic entitlements »

Introduction This paper examines the property theories of two contemporaries, Hippolyte Colins (1783-1859) and François Huet (1814-1869). Both had a French-Belgian background, and were heavily influenced by the French economic and socialist literature of the middle of the 19th century. We confine our analysis to the first major work of the one and the sole major work of the other. We do not claim to present an examination of the property theory of either writer tout court and we offer nothing.
